Fairhope High Jazz

Auditions for the 2009 Jazz Band will be Tuesday and Wednesday, November 4th and 5th at 3:00 pm in the Fairhope HS Band Hall. Audition materials can be found on the CAST page, click on the link above to access it.

This week the band has been at Nomad Studios in Daphne, AL recording several tracks. After 2 long 6 hour sessions, the tracking is almost finished. Once we put the finishing touches on, we can mix/master the audio and have a sound file up on the website. The students have done a great job and were very professional during the recordings. This learning experience has been very valuable over the years and we hope to continue our relationship with Barry Little and Nomad Productions so that we can bring this opportunity to more students.

The Fairhope Jazz Band performed Tuesday, March 11th in the Library as part of Music Week at Fairhope High School. A special thanks goes out to the librarians, Mrs. Peterson, Ms. Lomers, and Ms. Sabo for this great opportunity. It is great to see the student body support our performing groups. The jazz band performed arrangements of “Green Onions,” “South Rampart Street Parade,” “Brass Machine,” and “25 or 6 to 4.” The FHS Percussion Ensemble was also featured on Monday.
