Some of the PD sessions offered by IT Services can be scheduled using our virtual meeting system, Connect. This can mean teachers spend less time away from the classroom and less money travelling to Loxley for training. To participate, teachers would log in to the Connect meeting and watch and interact with the presentation. They can ask questions and see the presentation through their computer.
Large groups could participate with one computer connected to a projector or individual teachers could log in from their classrooms. All STC's and STM's have been trained on this and can provide assistance.
In order to schedule a Connect training at a school, the school must arrange for a minimum of 7 teachers to participate (teachers from nearby schools can be invited and could log in from their school to participate)
The sessions can be scheduled before or after school and also during teacher's planning times.
